My friend CaryHorizons15 wanted me to post this here. This is from her.
I just came back from a Christian
Young Life retreat in the App. Mts., it gave me much mental clarity, communion with my friends, and a beautiful experience altogether. I shared a night of a thousand stars with people who cared and respected me and each other, sang songs that spoke to our hearts, and laughed together as close friends despite not knowing each other quite well. It was amazing.
Yet what do I find when I get back to reality? Hate. Vulgar relentless hate. ARE YOU F*$king
I thought we all pretty much agreed to respect each other and what we like, but I guess we're still egotistical and pig-headed about EVERYTHING nowadays. Look at this exchange right here:comments.deviantart.com/1/5656…
SEE. This is how a proper exchange between those who have different interests SHOULD go. But no, we all have to be abrupt and confrontational about EVERTHING.
"EWWW. YOU LIKE -insert the thing the person hates hers-?! YOU EFFING FTARD!!! YOURE A HORRIBLE PIECE OF CRAP THAT NEEDS TO DIE IN A HOLE!"
"I'M SORRY YOU DONT LIKE THAT SO PLEASE GO BOTHER SOMEONE ELSE!"
"EFF YOU EFFER! I DO WHAT I WANT FEMALE DOG! TROLL, LOL!"
"WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU?!"
"WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU? PEOPLE DONT LIKE YOU!!!"
*cries about the bastards and deletes beautiful account and art*
AND IT GOES ON AND ON.
It's universally accepted that there's always going to be someone who disagrees with you and you'll disagree with them, but that doesn't mean you have to convince them of anything and they don't have to either.
Now I may say this: I am a Christian woman. NO ONE IN THE ENTIRE WORLD WILL MAKE ME CHANGE MY BELIEF WHATSOEVER.
And I shall say this: I ship Helsa and approve of Hans's redemption proudly. NO ONE IN THE ENTIRE WORLD WILL MAKE ME CHANGE MY OPINION WHATSOEVER. I ship Helsa and approve of Hans's redemption because I believe in forgiveness and second chances. I am a Christian because I believe if no one else loves me or forgives me of my sins, My Father and Jesus will. The same can apply to both. It does not matter who you are, where you're from, and what you love. My community knows there is a greater power that loves us; and to those who worship other religions, you all have morals and teachings that may say the same.
But I admit I am not faultless. I have regrets, things I'm not proud of, insecurities, and I admit I forget how to act like a true Christian and say things that hurt someone. But I do know how to conduct myself. If all of this can apply to a character in a disney movie (if they decide to do so), maybe we can learn how to forgive one another from petty arguments, to grievous wrongs, and treat each other respectfully regardless of anything that divides us. I hope some of you find it in your hearts to take the same initiative, but you don't have to follow this precedent. You don't have to change the way you think or feel, I'm just sharing what I've learned over the past 3 days, you are free to anything you wish.
